News is...

...the presentation of current events that raises awareness of various happenings on a local, national or international scale.

...information that is relevant to members of society, be it encompassing or regulated to smaller groups; information about daily, past, or future events.

...the constant events that occur around the world. It is information that is useful and sometimes irrelevant. It is what is going on in our lives.

...actions or ideas that effect in some way or strike common interests throughout a broad range of individuals. News also informs people by teaching or giving opinions on topics and basically is a way to expose various opinions or ideas.

...the portrayal of important information about the world around us delivered by means of text or spoken words.

...information gathered to educate readers. It is used to sell product, report events, or share stories. News is essential for expression and the freedom to respond to the world we live in.

...a report on pertinent events and information, local or otherwise.

...the single-most important factor in terms of history because without it there is no past, present, future. It also is informal, crucial, and necessary for our survival as humans.

...any new event that has significance to society or the human experience.

...information delivered to the public in any medium. It has some sort of impact with all who hear it and warrants some sort of discussion over its impact in everyday life.

...news isn't just something you report or say. I believe it has to be something you feel. If you aren't interested in a story or don't have yourself fully invested in it 100 percent, then that comes across to your audience.
